Girl's Easter Basket

Image
My husband asked me to make a fun Easter paper project to put on my blog. I asked him what he had in mind, and he came up with an Easter basket with a paper egg, decorated in pretty colors. I even had him pick out the colors, which were very pastel colors. I liked it but it needed a little more color and design, so I added some graphic print and cut files to decorate the basket and egg with.   I found the 3-D SVG files from SVG Cuts , and the graphics are from Miss Kate Cuttables .   I thought the cute eggs around the egg added dimension and added color. Then I added some fun eyes to the bunny.   If you like this project, use this nifty picture below to pin it on Pinterest!   Thanks for stopping by to see my craft.

St. Paddy's Day Hat and Pin.

Image
Monday is St. Patrick's Day this year, and I thought it was fitting to show you what I was doing this time last year. I was designing projects for an online magazine called Cutting Edge Magazine and here a project I made featured in the Spring 2013 issue.     My green eyed cat...She approves my projects by sniffing them first. If she doesn't approve, she will then try to step on them. What would I do without her?   Here are some of the buttons I used in this project.     I used files from SVG Cuts , and twine from Trendy Twine .   I made some fun glasses on a stick to bring the dress up theme together.   This rainbow pot of gold pin was really easy, I just taped a safety pin to the back.   Hope you have a fun and safe St. Patty's Day!     Thanks for stopping by,

Birthday Card for Her

Image
Today I have a simple Birthday card to show you.   I used a basic white A2 card base and did a scallop cutout using my Sizzix eClips machine. I used files from Miss Kate Cuttables and I added some of my own text (Birthday) with a border. I layered my cut-outs on a white background for a really crisp and clean look.       I then cut out another A2 sized card from double sided paper and added a thin line of glue down the spine of the card so that the scallop had a background behind it, plus I was able to write on the inside without it being visible through the scallop.   And there you have it, a very simple but pretty birthday card. It can be made into a card for him by simply changing the colors and picking a double sided paper with guy colors. For the embellishments,  perhaps a sports symbol or their favorite hobby like fishing, cars or motorcycles.     Thanks for stopping by to check out my blog, ...

Happy New Year!

Image
I hope everyone had a safe and meaningful first day of the year. I know I had a great day with my husband at a local farmers market and we went on a great walk down a nearby trail. I have a cute file idea to share, it's a penguin that has a magnet on the back. The file is from Miss Kate Cuttables and I think it is adorable! I added the date to remember and say farewell to 2013.   I wanted to pass along that SVG Cuts has a new kit out and it has a gazebo!!! How fun and versatile. Plus, if you get it this week, it's free when you spend $9.98 or more. Plus as always, Mary has her free file of the week. Also, don't miss out on Miss Kate Cuttables free file everyday. Thanks for stopping by,

Holiday Treats.

Image
It's been a busy season, so I pretty much missed out on posting any holiday crafts, but...that doesn't mean I wasn't making anything.  I kept busy with making some delicious homemade gifts for friends and family including candied almonds, chocolate covered coffee beans and peppermint bark. I found my recipes from different websites. My Baking Addiction has a great recipe for candied almonds. A Southern Fairytale has a chocolate covered coffee bean recipe. And I found a tasty Peppermint Bark on Pinterest . I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and have a safe New Year's Celebration!

Operation Tag!

Image
Hi everyone! I was on facebook the other day and I saw that Leslie from Trendy Twine was gathering birthday tags for her mom that she is attaching to a string at her mom's birthday party. If you haven't met Leslie yet, click here to visit her twine store. She comes up with awesome colors of twine that are great embellishments for all sorts of crafty projects. I think tags are so fun to make because they are small so I know I can finish it within an hour, plus they just look so good whatever theme you go with. I told her I was in, and went with a Fall theme for mine, including 5 different Fall twine colors. I was going to do a grid look, but I really liked the look of the twine crossing at an angle instead. It reminded me of a rainbow. I had a lot of fun being a part of this birthday celebration, thank you Leslie, for letting me join in on the surprise.                      ...

Fall Themed Thanksgiving Album

Image
For this album, I used some pictures from Thanksgiving with my family in 2009. It was a fun day at my oldest sister's house and she did such a great job hosting Thanksgiving that year. It was filled with all of the things I love about Thanksgiving, including games,  traditional foods, coffee with pumpkin pie and followed up with a bon fire and sorting through Black Friday deals in the paper. I will always cherish these times, so it was really great re-living it by making a mini album of that special day.   I used some really fun files from Lettering Delights , both the album and the elements are from LD. I just loved that owl, it's so cute! I also used Fall colors of my Trendy Twine and the papers are a mix of digital and scrapbook papers. My favorite are the ones from Imaginisce. I also used some markers from Ranger, the distress Picket Fence and Antique Linen.   To make some of my embellishments I just poked some holes and ...
