Fun Flag Birthday Card

This was a really fun card to make...thus the name of my post.
I made this for my sister who lives in Hamburg, Germany, but she didn't get my got lost in mail space somewhere, so I am posting the pictures as it will now be the only way she will see her card.
Hi Katy, if you're reading this!
One of the techniques I used to make this card is the print-to-cut feature on my Sizzix eclips.  All of the cuts came out great. I used Lori Whitlock's Spring Celebration paper pack
SVG Cuts Files that I used:
Moolight Garden Party for all of the little embellishment details including the lanterns.
Summer Street Carnival for the card base.
Garden Nouveau for the butterfly lantern.
The twine I used is Trendy Twine's Valentine Cherry Cupcake-red and pink twine.
I made a butterfly lantern (also using print-to-cut) with matching papers. For the vellum, I added color with my colorbox pigment inks and a sponge applicator.
{I used this technique for the little lanterns on the card too}

It is really cool to see the layers as you open it.

Some close-ups of the details.

Gotta have bling...I used black Stickles and some $1.00 glitter from the Michael's clearance rack.

I had included a color changing LED light for the lantern.

That does it for this project.
I hope it inspires you to try print-n-cut if you haven't tried it on your machine yet.

If you are looking for a great digital paper site, I just love the selection at Jessica Sprague.

I Have an Announcement Everybody!

I have been busting at the seams trying not to tell everyone until now, but I can offically tell you that I have been selected to be on the creative team for the hot new Cutting Edge online Magazine!
If you haven't stopped by yet, just click on the picture below and it will take you on your new crafty adventure...hee hee.  Are you ready? Cause I sure am! This means that I'm going to be on a better posting schedule (my poor blog gets forgotten sometimes) and I will have fresh new products to share along the way.

Ok, so I wanted to share some eye candy too...I'm getting decorated for Halloween, and I wanted to share some of my Halloween decor from last year.

Happy Haunting!

For the paper crafts featured, I used the following files/kits:
