Tropical Mini Album

Hi everyone!
Today I wanted to share a really fun and easy mini album idea that I found on Pinterest! I have been looking up all sorts of mini albums and welcome you to follow my mini album Pinterest board if you too want some fun inspiration.

This mini was inspired by a Pin by Bubble Gum and Duct Tape, which has easy step by step instructions for the base of the album.

Here is how my album turned out...

 
For the cover I used a stamp to create a subtle background and then another stamp for "memories". I hand wrote 2008 and all of the graphics in the album are from Miss Kate Cuttables.

 
Since this album is made of pockets, I made 3.75" x 2.75" cards that can pull out of the pockets. I added a circle to the top of the cards and the pictures slip under the circle. I used colorful cards made from cardstock and I think it really adds to the fun factor in this album as well as the super cute embellishments.

Hello all, I have been vacant from posting due to school...(blech) but now I am free! I just finished my last two courses that qualify me for my AA degree (only took me forever to get to this point), so I am so excited to be finished with that portion of school. Now on to some fun stuff!  I have made a lantern for Halloween and Fall, so I thought I would stick with the theme and make one for Christmas to give to my sister since she doesn't have much in the way of Christmas decorations. I took these pictures with the tealight led, but I gave her a color changing light too, so she can swith it up. My nephew (he's 7) took a look at both and decided he liked the color changing light the best, and wanted to put it in his room...I guess they can share. I will start by crediting Mod Paperie with the idea project she posted, hers is totally awesome and her details are ridiculous (in a totally awesome way of course)!!! On to the project... Aged Treasure Chest

Good sunshiny morning!  I have a very cool treasure chest to share with you today.  My friend is getting married with a nautical theme, and she asked me to make her a treasure box to hold the cards at the gift table instead of the classic birdcage or decorative box.  We played around with a couple of proto-types, but they were all too small to hold a large card, let alone several.  That's when I knew I was going to have to get creative and play with a couple of different kits to get the look we were after.  I used these kits from SVG Cuts: Ryan's Play Date I used just the sides and bottom of the box My Day with Dad I used the lid from the tool box, but not the sides of the lid (I cut a few extra slits in the tabs so that it would fit around a semi-circle). Coffee Filter Fall Leaves

I know it's still hot out in most places right now, but in Florida I'll take any excuse to bring on cooler weather or at least the idea of it, so I want to share a fun and easy tutorial for making fall leaves out of coffee filters. I purchased some white coffee filters from the Dollar Tree, some $1.00 spray bottles (Target, Walmart and Michaels have them), and I used food coloring mixed with water and pearl powders to make my shimmer sprays. On either wax paper, freezer paper or a Ranger Craft Sheet, start spraying the colors until you have some variety of yellow, orange, green and red. Then start to soak your coffee filter until it is filled with color. Set it aside to let it dry or you can bake it in a 200 degree oven for faster dry time. I also used my heat tool and that work great too. Step 1 . Create a leaf template onto 110 lb paper using a real leaf or an existing silk leaf and trace onto dry coffee filter. Step 2 . Cut out the leaf shape.
