Penguins on Parade

I just love this penguin from SVG Attic's All the Trimmings file.

I used scotch foam tape to give them dimension, and my cool gray Copic marker for shadowing.
Each card features Punkin Patch Stamps: Holiday Traditions, O Holy Night, Gingerbread Kisses
I also used Trendy Twine's peppermint stick twine some magnets and a snowflake and circle punch.


So each penguin is a magnet and behind each penguin is the card title. To make it attach to the front of the card I added a piece of magnet tape to the back side of the white cardstock, so you can't see the magnet. 

They look so festive...the paper stack I used is Recollection's Believe paper pad.

These stamps really quality stamps and they are perfect for the inside sentiment, I mixed and matched to say what I wanted.


I added rhinestones to the inside of the flower and the snowflake.
This is how big the piece of magnet is for the penguin, not much is needed.


Look at that army!

Hello all, I have been vacant from posting due to school...(blech) but now I am free! I just finished my last two courses that qualify me for my AA degree (only took me forever to get to this point), so I am so excited to be finished with that portion of school. Now on to some fun stuff!  I have made a lantern for Halloween and Fall, so I thought I would stick with the theme and make one for Christmas to give to my sister since she doesn't have much in the way of Christmas decorations. I took these pictures with the tealight led, but I gave her a color changing light too, so she can swith it up. My nephew (he's 7) took a look at both and decided he liked the color changing light the best, and wanted to put it in his room...I guess they can share. Aged Treasure Chest

Good sunshiny morning!  I have a very cool treasure chest to share with you today.  My friend is getting married with a nautical theme, and she asked me to make her a treasure box to hold the cards at the gift table instead of the classic birdcage or decorative box.  We played around with a couple of proto-types, but they were all too small to hold a large card, let alone several.  That's when I knew I was going to have to get creative and play with a couple of different kits to get the look we were after.  I used these kits from SVG Cuts: Ryan's Play Date I used just the sides and bottom of the box My Day with Dad I used the lid from the tool box, but not the sides of the lid (I cut a few extra slits in the tabs so that it would fit around a semi-circle). Coffee Filter Fall Leaves

I know it's still hot out in most places right now, but in Florida I'll take any excuse to bring on cooler weather or at least the idea of it, so I want to share a fun and easy tutorial for making fall leaves out of coffee filters. I purchased some white coffee filters from the Dollar Tree, some $1.00 spray bottles (Target, Walmart and Michaels have them), and I used food coloring mixed with water and pearl powders to make my shimmer sprays. On either wax paper, freezer paper or a Ranger Craft Sheet, start spraying the colors until you have some variety of yellow, orange, green and red. Then start to soak your coffee filter until it is filled with color. Set it aside to let it dry or you can bake it in a 200 degree oven for faster dry time. I also used my heat tool and that work great too. Step 1 . Create a leaf template onto 110 lb paper using a real leaf or an existing silk leaf and trace onto dry coffee filter. Step 2 . Cut out the leaf shape.
