Thanksgiving Napkin Ring Holders

Image
Thanksgiving is almost here and since the focus of this holiday is around the dining room table, what better way to dress it up than with some hand made napkin ring holders?   I used Miss Kate Cuttables Fall wreath and Lori Whitlock's Happy Thanksgiving sign from the I heart fall kit . I altered the wreath to have acorns instead of candy corn. Then I duplicated my design 9 times.  I also wanted to have a layered look, so I made 9 separate signs to layer on top of the wreath. For some reason my print and cut on my Silhouette Cameo wouldn't recognize my registration marks, and since I had already printed my elements and didn't want to waste the ink and paper, I used my Pix Scan mat instead which cut with no problems. They looked great but I wanted them to look awesome, so I added Stickles orange glitter, then some Michael's brand red glitter and Glossy Accents to make the embellishment look very professional and pretty. New House!

Image
I'm sure some of you know someone in your life who has purchased a house, and in my community that is the trend this year and last. This is a fun house warming gift I made for my friends who got their first house last year. I used a combination of SVG Cuts files (for the keys and house) and I use Lori Whitlock's frame file.   I went with a traditional black, white and grey color scheme. And to hold the frame, I put it in a perfect little house box. It even has a little light inside that changes colors. So to anyone out there buying a new home, good luck and enjoy the experience.

Fun Flag Birthday Card

Image
This was a really fun card to make...thus the name of my post. I made this for my sister who lives in Hamburg, Germany, but she didn't get my card...it got lost in mail space somewhere, so I am posting the pictures as it will now be the only way she will see her card. Hi Katy, if you're reading this! One of the techniques I used to make this card is the print-to-cut feature on my Sizzix eclips.  All of the cuts came out great. I used Lori Whitlock's Spring Celebration paper pack SVG Cuts Files that I used: Moolight Garden Party  for all of the little embellishment details including the lanterns. Summer Street Carnival for the card base. Garden Nouveau for the butterfly lantern. The twine I used is Trendy Twine's Valentine Cherry Cupcake -red and pink twine. I made a butterfly lantern (also using print-to-cut) with matching papers. For the vellum, I added color with my colorbox pigment inks and a sponge applicator. {I used this technique for ...

Aged Treasure Chest

Image
Good sunshiny morning!  I have a very cool treasure chest to share with you today.  My friend is getting married with a nautical theme, and she asked me to make her a treasure box to hold the cards at the gift table instead of the classic birdcage or decorative box.  We played around with a couple of proto-types, but they were all too small to hold a large card, let alone several.  That's when I knew I was going to have to get creative and play with a couple of different kits to get the look we were after.  I used these kits from SVG Cuts: Ryan's Play Date I used just the sides and bottom of the box My Day with Dad I used the lid from the tool box, but not the sides of the lid (I cut a few extra slits in the tabs so that it would fit around a semi-circle). French Quarter Ironwork I used the fleur decorative piece, and just cut it to fit. I also used some basic shapes from my library such as the h...
