Seasonal Door Hanger

Happy New Year! I wanted to share a super fun project that was inspired by my sister. One year I made her a Happy Spring decor from this post in 2012. I realized I put my picture on a green background on that post which wasn't a good choice, so here it is against a contrasting background.

She said she liked it so much, she put it on her front door, but since she didn't have any other door decorations for the rest of the year, she basically left it up until Christmas.
I was up for the challenge of making her more seasons, but it did take me quite some time to actually complete this project (5 months or so). But I have to say, they came out so cute and I even want some for my front door now!

Since it is now January, we will start with the Winter one...

My concept for this door hanger was to make one background to use as the base of all of the decorations, and then use velcro to change the designs. So this whole piece is held to the background with two pieces of velcro, as are all of the rest of the seasonal designs, making it simple to change.

I had made some crochet hearts for practice on another project and thought they went perfect on this project. Print and cut made this project a little easier and still came out looking great.

Up next is Easter...
